Spiced Pecans

My Dad has been wanting these and I have too.  Going to have to whip us up a batch!  Yum Yum!!  Kinda like those Lay's potato chips.... can't eat just one!
 :-)  Enjoy --Quiltpecan

SPICED PECANS
1 lb pecan halves
1 egg white
1 tsp. water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

Beat egg white and water until a bit frothy.  Pour over pecans and mix well to coat.  Combine sugar, salt and cinnamon.  Gradually add to pecan mixture.  Mix well to coat pecans.  Spread out in a single layer on a greased cookie sheet at 225 degrees.  Cook for 1 hour.  Stir every 15 minutes.  Cool slightly.  Store in an airtight container.

**Been talking with follower Melissa about these nuts and how great they are for the holidays and came up with a great teacher gift, little thank you for someone in your neighborhood, church, etc...  Fix up these nuts or other nut mixtures and pretty them up in a little pint jar with pretty fabric on top.  Instant gift!!  Now to loook for jars since the canning season is winding down for most people.

  1. These sound so yummy and delicious. For some reason they really remind me of fall and winter. I will be making these during the holidays for sure!
