Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As many of you know, October is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH.  Having had many members of my family suffer with this disease, I want to encourage you to be aware of all that is available for prevention and treatment.  The American Cancer Society can mail you info if you are interested.  Visit their website, http://www.cancer.org/ or call their toll free number 1 800-227-2345.  Their research benefits us all.  Please check out their info and participate in their programs when you can.

Our little city has encouraged businesses to promote BREAST CANCER AWARENESS month.  Many have met the challenge and have painted their windows, hung pink ribbons, decorated their store displays and even local residents have hung ribbons, flags, wreaths, put out pink flowers and more.  One that especially caught my eye was the display at our local nursing home.  I've posted a pic for you to enjoy.  Please do what you can to help fight cancer!!  --Quiltpecan
