ReplyDeleteI like to sew "stuff". :) Mostly quilts, but I have been having fun with bags too. Sweet that you have 100 posts!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting my button! I guess that means you have my blog address. :)
ReplyDeleteI am currently a transplant Texan, as opposed to a Texas transplant. Which means, as the bumper sticker says, I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could. My BIL is now in CA which makes him a Texas transplant.
ReplyDeleteWe have fabulous wildflowers all spring! LOVE IT!
I found you via Harriet Homemaker. And I like what I see. :) A little bit of everything, isn't that what we women are?

ReplyDeleteThat's my blog. I REALLY need to do more with it.
I would like to say a HUGE thank you to the families of the military not just the military. These families deal constantly with their loved ones leaving to go into hostile situations and constantly have to say goodbye like it is the last time. It takes a special breed of person. I pray for them all.
ReplyDeleteMy ideal vacation would probably be to Ireland. Or to New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteGreat Giveaway! Thank you to my step-son, Aaron. On his second tour in Korea. First tour in Iraq, he received a Purple Heart. God bless our soldiers!! gougeonathome@charter.net (Allison)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, what to post about Kentucky.
ReplyDeleteOur state bird is the Cardinal.
Our state flower is the Goldenrod.
Our state tree is the Tulip Poplar.
Our state butterfly is the Viceroy.
Our state dance is clogging.
We also have the birthplace memorials for BOTH Civil War Presidents. Abe Lincoln in South Central Kentucky and Jefferson Davis in South Western Kentucky. (Interesting fact here. Both used to have log cabins, however, they were both in disrepair. So they used the good timber from both to recreate Abe Lincoln's.) Hmmm, We have a local Civil War Reenactment every year. It's called the Battle of Sacramento. My cousin plays our ancestor in the battle. He was an officer in the war.
We bought a flag today to fly for memorial day. I have a cousin and a cousin-in-law and a brother-in-law that are or were in various branches of the military. Thanks guys! Also my husbands grandfather fought in WWII and did some amazing things to preserve freedom, so thanks to him too, though he is not with us here any longer.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless our troops, wherever they may be.
My dream vacation? Somewhere warm, but not hot or humid, with a beach and a pool and a cozy bed. And someone who does everything for me.
ReplyDeleteI like to sew quilts. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI blogged about your giveaway http://salliessampler.blogspot.com/2011/05/sew-hows-this-giveaway-celebrating-100.html

ReplyDeleteThank you to my grandfather who served in the War with Mexico and WWI; my decorated uncles from WWII; uncles and cousins who served in Vietnam, the cousins who served through the various Gulf Wars, and those who have/are serving in the awful wars of the last 10 years. I proudly wear a poppy to remember.
ReplyDeleteNorth Florida - the Gulf coast seafood is safe and tastes good and there are no tar balls or messed up coastlines. Tourists should come and visit!
ReplyDeleteI am currently working on sewing quilts...it's my latest endeavor...however, I still like sewing handbags too! Thank you for a lovely giveaway!

ReplyDeleteLast year we spent a week in Rehoboth, DE. It was such a beautiful time away as a family. We can't afford to do it again any time soon...but will start saving again and hopefully somewhere down the road we can get away again!
ReplyDeleteThe beach, the ocean, sunrises, sunsets...I loved it!
I included your giveaway in my blog today:

ReplyDeleteThis summer we are planning our first ever FAMILY vacation. My husband's parents and siblings are going camping with us in Salt Fork in Ohio. Should be fun! Come on sun!
ReplyDeleteI am from Ohio. A popular landmark very near me is the Canton Football Hall of Fame. I've only been to the gift shop once and never toured the museum. But I have been to several football games and many many parades and events there. Thanks for hosting the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 100 posts! Great accomplishment :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a blog too, and I'd love for you to visit.

I do appreciate the military who give of themselves for our country. My FIL was in WWII. I also commend the brave men and women who are currently serving in our military. Thank you for letting us say a word about this.
ReplyDeleteI think my dream vacation would be to travel to New Zealand. I've only been out of the country once (well twice if you count Canada), but NZ sounds like a great place to visit.
ReplyDeleteI live in the Sunshine State! Florida is a magnet for tourism, but where I live is mostly just a town where we live day to day. But you are a short drive to Disney, SeaWorld and the many beaches that line our shores.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 100 posts. What lovely things you've chosen to giveaway. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

I love to sew bags! Never met a bag pattern I don't like! I also love quilting. I want to love garment sewing, but I am not proficient at it.
ReplyDeleteAs my Memorial Day Tribute, I thank all the men and women who protect our land, our seas, and our air! My father and father-in-law were proud veterans! A friend's son is currently serving in the Navy, and I appreciate his service! He is a fine young man.
ReplyDelete100 posts is a lot. Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteMemorial Day in Canada (you don't say this is only for the US) is in November. However I always remember my mother, aunt and uncle, who participated in WWII, my mother's first husband who was killed in that war, my husband's cousin who has had three tours in Afghanistan and the families of the brave Canadians who have died in Afghanistan.
ReplyDeleteMy dream vacation this year is to go to Victoria, B.C. to visit my daughter who was supposed to be staying there for the summer. Last night she informed me that she is coming home instead. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteI live in the Yukon Territory in Canada. Land of big lakes, mountains, forests and cold. The Yukon is bigger in size than the British Isles, and the population of the territory is about 35,000.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly new to quilting, and thus far have only made quilts. I'm loving totes and bags, and would love to try one of them. I'm still suffering from confidence issues, but hopefully will get better at that before too long.
ReplyDeleteI have a blog, too, but it's fairly new (only 21 followers). I don't have a personal computer, so use a work-issued laptop which doesn't allow me to download photos. And I don't post on a regular basis. So to me, it's a boring blog. I'm struggling with it, but I'll get there one day. But - in order to get a second entry for your giveaway, I'm providing my blog info. You sneaky thing! :-)

From 1975-2008, I worked for the Army as a civilian at Ft Gordon, GA. Then in 2001, I accepted a position (still as a civilian with the Army) and went to work in Heidleberg, Germany. Talk about feeling patriotic and proud!! Landstuhl Regional Medical Center is where they send the wounded warriors before they can be transferred to hospitals in the States. Landstuhl was about 1-1/2 hours from Heidelberg. Working with the military and visiting Landstuhl truly, truly, truly gave me such a fierce sense of pride for our military. Many of the wounded I saw were young enough to be my children, and it broke my heart to see them in the hospital. But they were so proud to represent our country. And I'm so proud I met them. I was blessed.
ReplyDeleteMy dream vacation would be to go back to my beloved Europe (see previous post). From the day I first landed in Germany, I felt like I "belonged". I miss Germany so much and would love to go back and visit. For a long visit.
ReplyDeleteI'm from the Georgia. Atlanta (where I live) is the capitol of Georgia. Our state nickname: "The Peach State". The state song: Georgia on My Mind. Places to visit: Atlanta Botanical Garden, Underground Atlanta, Zoo Atlanta, Stone Mountain.
ReplyDeleteI love to hand quilt. Thanks for doing the giveaway!

I took my granddaughter on a tour of our yard this morning. We have Iris in bloom and some daisies are starting to blossom. Peas are coming up and the broccoli looks like it's survived the snow.
ReplyDeleteThis winter we went to Hawaii and visited Pearl Harbor. While we were at the Arizona Memorial a navy ship passed by. As a tribute all the crew members line the decks and salute until their ship has passed. It was incredibly moving. My father and father-in-law served in World War II. I have a nephew who will be leaving for his 2nd tour of duty to Afghanistan shortly. I am grateful to all those who have served to keep this country free.
ReplyDelete100 posts...congrats, thanks for the chance at the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHere's my blog address

ReplyDeleteMy dream vacation would be a 2 week trip to Hawaii - oh heck, a month.
ReplyDeleteI'm from New York - state flower is the rose and state bird is the robin.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThis time of year I like to work in my gardens.
For Memorial Day I would like to thank all of our veterans for their service to our country and to my son who is in the military now-he did one tour to Iraq. I would especially like to remember those who gave their all for our freedoms.

Thank you to my father and uncles for serving so my husband and my children didn't have to serve.
ReplyDeleteWe camp along the Mississippi River in southwestern Wisconsin. My husband fishes and I sew. I love weekends in the summer! We vacation on the weekends!
ReplyDeleteI am from Wisconsin and my favorite flower is our state flower the wood violet.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 100th post! What a milestone!
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, my favorite vacation spot for holiday weekends, is whereever the family wants to gather -- always at someone's house!
ReplyDeleteMy Memorial Day tribute is a thank you to all of our brave men who served in Vietnam.
ReplyDeleteI live in Florida! In all honesty, we are the 4th worst state for job hunting. We have no state income tax, so we are actually dumb enough to try to run a state without making a provision for income! Thus we also have a mediocre school system -- yes I am horrified.
ReplyDeleteI like playing the violin!
ReplyDeleteMy blog. http://glenysleeng.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks militarians!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to go to the hills. Fresh air and greenery is what I like most about them.

ReplyDeleteOn Memorial Day, I would like to remember all my relatives, but especially my grandfather who inspired me in sew many ways...quilting, teaching, becoming a musician...he lives on in my heart!

ReplyDeleteMy blog is http://dayofgracew.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteIt's also a hodge podge, though I've been better about updating it lately.
My dream vacation is to Schlitterbahn in Galveston. It's close and we always have a good time. I know - not that exciting, but we're simple folks ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd last entry - I live in Texas. It's an awesome state. Miserably hot during the summer, but really, I can't imagine living anywhere else. Galveston is great, Austin is great, Houston has great things. State bird is the mockingbird, state flower is the beautiful bluebonnet.
ReplyDeleteYour giveaway is lovely and generous; quilters and stitchers of all kinds are always kind, aren't they? Quilting is my all-time hobby, though I'd love to also get into embroidery. I'm a hand quilter, but someday must work on some simple machine quilting.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I am so moved and proud of everyone who has served and is serving now in the military. We need to remember them this week and all year long.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much.
My dream vacation: That would be to go to England and Ireland. But I'd also like to see more of the US, because I've never traveled a great deal. Our country has so much to offer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your giveaway.
I live in the Nutmeg State, Connecticut, in the northwest corner where it is country, with hills and valleys. My small city was greatly populated by immigrants in the 1800s and early 1900s; they came to work in the manufacturing plants. It's a comfortable place to live, away from the "big" highways and interstates.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I posted your giveaway on my blog.

ReplyDeleteMy state is Virginia--home of the most presidents! I lived in Colonial Williamsburg for almost 10 years...beautiful, and it was so fun to take our guests down to Duke of Gloucester street and buy cookies at the colonial bakery. Now we live in the Shenandoah Valley and we have beautiful mountain views.
